Palmeraie in pictures
A palm grove on the northern edge of Marrakech, estimated at 10,000 to 13,000 hectares and roughly a hundred thousand palms. It dates back to the Almoravids, who watered it with khettaras, underground channels bringing water from the High Atlas; today walled villas, guesthouses and resort hotels sit among the trees.
Good to know
- It is the longest of the city runs: 14.1 km from the airport, more than twice the run to Agdal (6 km).
- The Circuit de la Palmeraie, a loop road through the grove reached from the Route de Fès, is the main axis; most addresses lie off it.
- Many villas stand behind high walls on unsigned private roads or tracks, so a villa name alone rarely finds the gate.
- Camel treks and horse rides are a common sight along the circuit.
- Leave a little more margin for the return flight than you would from a hotel in the centre.

No. The Palmeraie has the airport price for any Marrakech district, 300 MAD per car for up to 3 guests, the same as a drop in Agdal, though the run is more than twice as long. The office confirms it in writing.
How long is the drive?
About 20 min for 14.1 km, the longest of the in-town runs, so allow a margin when you book the pickup for your departure.
