Short answer
Agadir is 250 km from Marrakech, about 3 h on the toll motorway through the western High Atlas, and Taghazout is 271 km, about 3 h 20. A private transfer from Marrakech airport costs 1,650 MAD to Agadir and 1,800 MAD to Taghazout per car for up to 3 guests, with the driver waiting in arrivals.
Why fly into Marrakech for Agadir
If the best flight for you lands in Marrakech, you can still be on the coast the same day, with a car waiting in arrivals.
The transfer costs the same from the airport as from a Marrakech hotel, so you can also spend a few nights in Marrakech first and go on to the coast afterwards.
The route
Almost the whole way is toll motorway. From Marrakech it runs west across the plain to Chichaoua, then climbs through the western end of the High Atlas by Imintanoute and Argana before dropping to the coast.
The mountain section is the only part with long climbs and bends. Most people take one coffee stop on the way; tell the driver when you want it.
Agadir
Agadir is a beach resort city with hotels along a long sandy bay. The driver drops you at your hotel or apartment door.
Prices from Marrakech: 1,650 MAD by sedan for up to 3 guests, 2,150 MAD by van for up to 7, 2,400 MAD by minibus for up to 16.
Taghazout
Taghazout is a surf village on the coast north of Agadir. Anchor Point, a right-hand point break, is just north of the village. From the motorway the driver continues through Agadir and north on the coast road.
Some surf houses sit on lanes too narrow for a car. If yours does, the driver stops on the nearest road; send a map pin so your host can meet you.
If you bring boards, tell us how many and how long when you book, so the office sends a vehicle with room for them. Prices: 1,800 MAD by sedan, 2,350 MAD by van, 2,600 MAD by minibus.
Stops on the way
The motorway has service areas, which is where most drivers take the coffee break. If you want a longer stop, such as lunch, tell the office when you book.
A stop off the motorway changes the route and the price. The office quotes it in writing before you travel.
Boards, bikes and bigger groups
A sedan holds 3 guests and 3 large suitcases, which leaves no room for boards or bikes. With sports gear, book the van: 2,350 MAD to Taghazout, 2,150 MAD to Agadir, for up to 7 guests.
A surf camp group or a family party of up to 16 fits the minibus, 2,400 MAD to Agadir. Child seats are available on request; give the children's ages when you book.
Flying home from Agadir
If you fly in to Marrakech and home from Agadir, book the transfer to Agadir airport instead. It lies southeast of the city, on the far side from the Marrakech road: 253 km and about 3 h 20 from Marrakech, 1,700 MAD by sedan.
Add a margin for traffic and the check-in time your airline asks for. The office suggests a pickup time when it confirms.
Night arrivals
Drivers pick up around the clock. A pickup in the 23:00–04:59 window carries a 20% supplement. If you land late, think about a night in Marrakech and driving to the coast the next morning. You arrive rested and see the Atlas section in daylight.
Coming back up from the coast
Pickup for the trip back is where you were dropped: your Agadir hotel door, or the road nearest your Taghazout surf house. Send the same map pin again, because the driver on the return may not be the one who brought you down.
For a same-day flight from Marrakech, start from the 3 h 20 drive from Taghazout, or 3 h from Agadir, and add check-in time. Book both legs together if you know your dates.
