A reservoir at the foot of the Atlas, behind a dam built between 1929 and 1935 on the N'Fis river. People come for lunch by the water, boating and the mountain views.
Lalla Takerkoust lake is 36 km from the Medina, about 40 min by road across the plain southwest of Marrakech. A private transfer costs 550 MAD per car for up to 3 guests and drops you at your lodge or lakeside restaurant. Shared taxis run on the Amizmiz road, but they do not go down to the shore.

To the door of your lodge or restaurant, including the tracks above the shore.
Taxis and buses for Amizmiz leave from a rank outside Bab er Rob. Taxis go when full, and you still need a way from the road to the water.
If you hire one for a return trip, agree the waiting time and pay at the end, once you are back in Marrakech.
The drive is short and flat. You leave Marrakech to the southwest, cross open farmland and reach the lake at the foot of the Atlas foothills. There are no passes and no mountain bends, so it suits anyone who gets carsick.
Lodges and beach clubs sit around the shore, some on dirt tracks above the water. Send the map pin with your booking so the driver goes straight to the right gate.
Most people come for a long lunch by the water with the mountains behind. Some clubs rent kayaks and run jet-ski or quad outings; book those with the club, not with us.
The lake is a reservoir behind a dam on the N'Fis river, built between 1929 and 1935. It kept running normally after the September 2023 earthquake.
Lalla Takerkoust Lake from 550 MAD per car
The price is fixed before you travel. The office confirms it in writing.
The lake rises and falls with rainfall, and in dry years the shoreline drops a long way. If you book a lakeside lunch for the view, ask the restaurant how the water looks that month before you go.
The Agafay camps are close by, so many guests have lunch at the lake and go on to a camp for sunset. Tell the office both stops when you book and you get one written price for the day.
For a half day with the driver waiting at the lake, ask about driver hire: 900 MAD for a half day. The office checks the timings with you before it confirms.
Spring and autumn are the most comfortable for lunch outside. Summer days are hot on the plain, so go early or late. In winter the snow on the High Atlas behind the lake is at its clearest after rain, and lunch in the sun by the water is still pleasant.
Southwest out of the city across open farmland to the lake under the Atlas foothills.
At your lodge, restaurant or beach club by the lake. Some sit on tracks above the shore; send the map pin.
Ask for a photo stop or lunch on the way when you book. Short stops are free; a longer detour is added to the written price.
550 MAD per car for up to 3 guests, 700 MAD for a van up to 7 and 800 MAD for a minibus up to 16, per vehicle.
Yes. Tell the office when you book; a stop changes the price, and the office confirms the new price in writing before the trip.

Send your flight details now. The office replies Monday to Saturday, 09:00 to 18:00; drivers work around the clock.
